Abstract: This thematic study has been prepared as a contribution to the FAO publication, The State of the World’s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture. The study is an initial analysis of the contribution of protected areas to the conservation of biodiversity for food and agriculture and particularly of wild species used for food.
